Day 2
Today I ate, I laughed, I shot zombies and took a long walk with an old friend. I functioned like myself, but maybe with each step a little heavier. Just a little. My eyebags are ballooning out of this world, but I’ll give that another day.
Then I thought about stuff. Thought about cherishing the present, thought about what life would be like if I told myself that every day. Thought about...

it runs ahead in a straight line.

Here comes the waiting
Two months of waiting starts today, and honestly, it hasn’t been easy on my nerves. I’ve been second guessing my answers ever since I stepped out of the interview, wavering between confidence and being convinced that I blew it, every five minutes. Having so much lull time is seriously unhealthy. But I suppose more than anything I’m thankful for coming this far. A good portion of...

JOY O JOY O JOY
Title describes my mood at exactly 5:49pm today. Today, three months of fussing and waiting and nervous angst culminated in “OH MY GOD YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!” ringing through the thin walls of my room. Hahahaha. Not exaggerating. Have never been happier to receive an email.
Now to madly prepare for the most important interview I’ve ever had.

asylum: Why the friendzone is bullshit and... →
And second, what option does the woman have in a traditional “friendzone” situation? Just stop talking to a close friend to avoid “leading him on”? In high school, I found out my best friend of 2 years liked me. Having to tell him I didn’t feel the same way and being immediately ex-communicated via Facebook status (“Thanks for wasting my time”) was one of the worst things that ever happened to me....

Rant
Facebook has this new function that allows you to write on someone’s wall just by clicking on the side tab. So now you don’t even have to go to that person’s profile, it can be done almost instantaneously. Which brings me to my point. Social interaction has become so… insincere. I remember the days when birthday wishes were sent via snail mail, phone calls and SMSes; a more...

Learn something new
So the diet hasn’t been working out - evidently - but it’s all in the name of QT with lovely people so no complaints! Went for my first Rakugo (Japanese storytelling) performance with Velda, and was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it was, despite the very random “visual comedy” segment which included crazy Godzilla puppets, slapstick jokes with...

Antoinette
A coupla weeks ago, I had lunch at the lovely Antoinette with Gene. This place, nestled in the most unlikely neighbourhood of Lavender, is such a hidden gem! The decor reminds me completely of Laduree in Paris, albeit less extravagant. But waiters in crisp suits, picture perfect pastries on display and chandeliers! What’s not to like?
Gene and his breakfast set. They really fried that...

Wagyu I luv you
I think I am a rather strange girl. I turned 22 this year, and usually girls like to get presents like bags, wallets or perfume on their birthdays, I think. But for two (or has it been three?) years now, every year my present from Donny is…. a yakiniku dinner. A dinner so momentuous that I look forward to it eagerly and count down the days till I can have it. Therefore, I have decided that...

Formspring
is… a strange concept. With the pretext of being able to ask anything you want anonymously, of course it opens up a bag of worms. I just spent an hour reading the page of some famous blogger (new bad habit I need to quit) and can’t decide who exactly are the more bo liao ones, the people asking the questions or the ones answering them. Or maybe the ones reading the dialogues (i.e. me),...

侘寂
Wabi-sabi (侘寂) represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”.
This sounds beautiful, just the idea of it, and very accurately describes how I view some things. It’s actually kinda sad too.
